The annual Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch is from September 14 – October 31. The Irvine Park Railroad transforms the surrounding area into a Halloween fun zone with activities for the whole family. This popular event draws visitors from all over Southern California. Here’s all the details about what you can expect to find this year.

During holiday seasons and special event times, Santiago Canyon College located outside the entrance to the park has overflow parking on the weekends for a fee.

Free Pumpkin Patch Activities
The Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off – KTLA Channel 5 News will be at the park to watch pumpkin growers weigh their prize pumpkins in a competition to see who’s pumpkin is the biggest. Winners of the Great Pumpkin Weigh-Off will win over $8,500 in cash and prizes. Winning categories will include prettiest pumpkin, ugliest pumpkin, new grower, youngest grower, and oldest grower. Plus there are cash prizes for up to 10th place.
Haunted House – The haunted house is free for all to enjoy. Take a walk through the spooky house for fun Halloween thrills. It’s only slightly spooky so even the little ones can enjoy this haunted house.
Hay Maze – Find your way through the walls of the hay maze. Adults and children alike will enjoy this fun activity and it is free for everyone to enter as many times as you wish.
Hay Pyramid – Little climbers will love seeing how high they can get on this hay pyramid. Climbing up and down to see how many times they can get to the top is fun for all the kids at the pumpkin patch.
Picture Stands – Throughout the pumpkin patch area there will be several Halloween-themed stands for you and your family to take photos and capture the memories of the fun moments you have at the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch. From pumpkins to scarecrows and so much more, take your memories home with a picture in front of one of these fun displays.
Paid Pumpkin Patch Activities
Carnival Games, Ring Toss, & Moon Bounce – Kids can’t get enough of bounce houses, and Irvine Park’s Halloween-themed moon bounce will have kids coming back for more. One ticket gives each child 10 minutes of bounce time. Carnival games such as the pumpkin ring toss or Bank-A-Ball are always a highlight of any event, and at Irvine Park, every child wins a prize. Each game is only one ticket per person.
Pumpkin or Cookie Decorating – For one ticket, your little pumpkin can decorate their own sugar cookie or pumpkin. Kids can choose from a variety of frostings and tasty toppings to add to their cookie creations.
Face Painting – For two tickets, kids (and adults) can have their faces painted. Pumpkin, ghost, goblin, or butterfly? What will you turn into?
Hay Rides – Climb up on the big green tractor-pulled covered wagon for a hay ride around the park. Complete with bales of hay to sit on while you enjoy views of the park, this is a fun fall activity you don’t want to miss. Hay rides are 1 ticket per person and children 12 months and under are free.
John Deere Races – Kids ages 5-8 can hop on the mini John Deere trucks for an exciting race. Who will win the next race? John Deere races are one ticket per person.
Mini Diggers – The Excavator Mini Digger has hydraulically controlled digging arms. Children can use the small, electric-powered machine to excavate sand at this attraction.
Panning for Gold – At Irvine Park’s mining area, kids can pan for gold. Or is it fool’s gold? Either way, the sparkle of striking gold will delight kids of all ages and they can take home their find. Gold panning is two tickets per person.
Pumpkin Patch – Come and pick out your favorite pumpkin at the Irvine Park Pumpkin Patch. There are hundreds of pumpkins that will be available to purchase. The cost of pumpkins vary based on type and size and they have everything from baby gourds to giant pumpkins that require wheelbarrows and wagons to move.
Train Rides – Hop on the Irvine Park 1/3 scale train for a ride through historic Irvine Regional Park. Riders will enjoy views of the lake and maybe get a glimpse of the resident peacocks that freely roam the park. Train rides are 1 ticket per person, and children 12 months and younger are free.
