Villa Park Picnic History
The Villa Park community picnic dates back to at least 1881 when the community would travel by wagon to Irvine park. The tradition of having the picnic at Irvine Lake continued until 2015 prior to the temporary closing of Irvine Lake in 2016. The VP Family and Friends Community Picnic was then moved to Villa Park High School before being discontinued after 2018.
