Crystal Miles
City of Villa Park Councilmember/Businesswoman
I am an 18-year resident of Villa Park, along with my husband of 19 years, raising our two boys ages 14 and 17, both of whom attend Villa Park High School. Currently, I sit on the Villa Park City Council as the residents elected me in 2018. I would be honored to continue to serve for another 4 years.
I believe in the core values of dedication, persistence, compromise, integrity, and honesty. These values have guided me these past 4 years as a Villa Park Councilwoman. The budget is balanced, streets maintained, our city is safe, we have our first City Park, and we are on task satisfying the State Housing Mandate.
Early on, I gave up my profession as an Associate Scientist to stay home and raise our boys, Now, I work alongside my husband at our business of 22 years while proudly serving on Villa Park City Council.
I made a promise the first time I ran that I would base my decisions on data. I have been consistent in that promise and respectfully ask for your continued support. A vote for me is a vote to continue to keep the City of Villa Park our hidden jewel.
Donna Buxton
Retired IT Executive
I am a 19-year resident of Villa Park. Since retiring as an IT Healthcare Executive, I have successfully led fundraising projects for Children’s Hospital of Orange County. I’m an avid golfer and serve on the Boards of two golf organizations. I’ve also cochaired two resident committees to improve traffic & parking in our community, working closely with residents, City and Orange Unified School District administrators.
My efforts have demonstrated strong leadership and skills in problem solving and teamwork. I have gained knowledge of City processes and developed relationships with staff and decision makers. I have been a regular participant at City Council Meetings and am a respected voice.
My participation has provided valuable insights regarding the challenges facing Villa Park: State mandates, development in adjacent communities, and rising costs due to inflation. As a Councilmember, my priorities will include preserving our community, protecting property values, maintaining our low crime rate, and fiscal responsibility.
In my efforts I have earned a reputation as a level-headed straight shooter who is good to work with. With your vote, I will put those qualities to work protecting Villa Park, the Hidden Jewel we know and love.
Marybeth Felcyn
Supportive Services Provider
A 17-year Villa Park resident and Computer Scientist, Mary Beth Felcyn is a proven problem-solver. She has studied and engaged in the issues impacting Villa Park and shared recommendations and insights from her analyses with the City Council. In 2014 she co-chaired a resident committee addressing traffic safety in the Serrano Avenue neighborhood. Working with residents, OUSD and City staff, changes were implemented which improved traffic flow and student and resident safety. That work continues.
Mary Beth’s efforts to improve Villa Park demonstrate her leadership, vision, and teamwork. She critically analyzes issues and potential solutions and seeks resident input before making recommendations. Her work has improved our city and provided her with an in-depth understanding of the issues facing Villa Park and how to successfully solve them.
Although we all like Villa Park as it is, developments in adjacent areas combined with the State mandate to provide 296 affordable units (resulting in an estimated 1,200 new residents) will impact our city. Inflation will challenge our budget. On Council, I will be vigilant to minimize these impacts and identify strategies to protect and enhance our property values and maintain services and our low crime rate.
Jordan Wu
Community Volunteer
Villa Park provides a safe place and friendly community for residents to raise their children, support their families, and enjoy their retirement. This is why my family moved to the Hidden Jewel in 2016. My wife, Shamim, and I immediately took on the task of being co-chairs for the annual HalloweenFest. As a member of the Villa Park Community Services Foundation board, I broadened our community outreach and created many of our multicultural celebration events.
Fortunately, I had the opportunity to retire early, working as a stay-at-home dad actively involved in my two daughters’ lives and education. This decision provides me with the time to dedicate myself to connecting our community and hearing people’s concerns.
As your councilmember, you can count on me to:
Always listen to you
Roll up my sleeves when there’s work to be done
Keep our city safe from crime
Embrace, celebrate, and encourage our multiculturalism
I will be your voice for positive change and work with other councilmembers to unite and improve our community. I humbly ask for your vote and support. Together, we can make our Hidden Jewel continue to shine!

Nicol Jones
Nonprofit Board Member
I have strong roots here in Villa Park, having grown up in Villa Park and attending our local schools. After graduating with my master’s degree, I returned to Villa Park to raise my own family. Following my early retirement from my 25-year career in a small family business, I turned my attention to my community. I have been active in many of our local non-profit organizations, holding numerous Board positions. I have also always been involved in our local schools, where I sent my own four children. While serving our schools and community, I prioritized student mental health and received the Orange County School Counselor Advocate Award in 2021 from the Orange County Department of Education. I currently serve on the Orange Unified School District Measure S Citizens Oversight Committee, ensuring that the tax dollars committed to our schools through Measure S are being spent prudently. I am running because I want to fight State overreach into local zoning and preserve what has always been special about the Villa Park community: strong public safety, accessible and transparent local government, and that “small town” feel. I love this community and commit to working hard for Villa Park and working hard for you. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 8. [email protected]
