- Mark A. Murphy, Mayor of Orange/Businessman
- Dan Slater, Real Estate Broker/Business Owner
City of Orange, Mayor
MARK A. MURPHY AGE: 65
Mayor, City of Orange/Businessman
Born and raised in the City of Orange, it has been my privilege to serve as your Mayor and Councilman. As Mayor, I led the city through the Covid-19 Pandemic, securing millions of dollars in funding and resources, to support residents and businesses during the challenges we faced. Together, we have worked hard to increase resources and personnel for our police and fire departments.
I remain committed to secure additional funding for additional Parks, Trails and Open Space. We continue to address our homelessness issue, reduce traffic congestion and preserve the history of our great city. With your help, we will keep Orange among the best communities to live, work and raise a family.
I ask for your support to elect me as your Mayor. With your support, we will continue to fight for a safe, financially secure community. My business/technology career gives me the practical experience to lead Orange on a secure path through these tough economic times.
My service has earned the endorsements of Sheriff Don Barnes, Supervisor Don Wagner, Mayor Tita Smith, Councilmembers Kim Nichols, and Jon Dumitru, the City of Orange Police Association and the Orange City Firefighters.
I ask for your support.

Dan Slater
Orange Business Owner
I will protect Orange taxpayers and bring common sense to City Hall.
My family has been in Orange since the late 1800’s. I grew up here and attended Immanuel Lutheran Elementary and OLu. As a child, I caught crawdads in Santiago Creek. There’s no place I would rather live.
Today, Orange faces serious challenges. Homelessness is rampant. Numerous proposed developments clash with the quality of life we expect. I will provide the leadership we need to solve the issues confronting our city.
Look at the record: Only two months ago, the first new police positions were added since 2002. Plans were to build 2,200 apartments at the Orange Mall. There are mountains of debris alongside Santiago Creek. Lands designated as “open space” are now proposed to become a housing project and cemetery. Streets are poorly maintained. Rowdy, unsupervised college students are ruining neighborhoods. No one in charge at City Hall seems to care.
I’ve successfully operated my business in Orange for 37 years. I earned a BA in Business Administration from California State University Fullerton and was Orange Chamber of Commerce President. I’m endorsed by Councilmembers Ana Gutierrez and Arianna Barrios, Former Mayor Carolyn Cavecche and residents from all parts of Orange.
Together, we will preserve and protect the City of Orange.
