About the 2026 Orange Mayoral Election

I grew up in Orange, graduating from OLu. I proudly own both my home and small business here.
When you first elected me Mayor in 2022, I pledged to protect Orange taxpayers and bring common sense to city hall. Since then, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this responsibility:
- Orange is cleaner
- Crime down 28%
- Homelessness decreased
- Illegal street vendors eliminated
- Graffiti reduced
- Traffic flow improved
- Tackling the proliferation of massage parlors and smoke shops
- Addressing poorly maintained vacant properties
- 45 acres adjoining our “Central Park” (Santiago Creek) dedicated as permanent open space, with more on the way
- Attracting new businesses, bringing much needed sales tax revenue, helping to return Orange to financial stability
We’ve done this even though our City budget has been reduced $37.5 million, and we’ve cut our workforce 10%.
My leadership has earned bipartisan support from our Orange City Firefighters, Congressmember Young Kim, Assemblymember Avelino Valencia, most of our City Council, and countless community leaders.
I will honor existing term limits: this will be the last time I seek any elected position in Orange.
Let’s continue putting Orange back on a solid foundation. I respectfully request your vote for one last two-year term as Mayor.

Orange residents deserve leaders who will fight for them. Decades of fiscal instability and scant economic growth have sent Orange in the wrong direction. As Mayor, I want to change that.
We need City government that works for everyone with new ideas, disciplined management, and strong fiscal controls to ensure our future. We need fundamental change that puts residents first and challenges the status quo.
As a businessowner and recipient of Orange Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year award, I know how to balance a budget and prioritize the essentials such as Police, Fire, roads, water, sewers, and parks.
As Councilmember, I’ve gotten things done:
- Lowered the crime rate
- Strengthened code enforcement
- Fought illegal smoke shops and massage parlors
- Introduced strong fiscal policy
But we can do better.
As Mayor, I will:
- Prioritize City debt reduction
- Stop deficit spending
- Tackle homelessness with compassion and enforcement
- Ensure Chapman University pays their fair share
My record has earned endorsements from trusted leaders: Orange County Supervisor Vincente Sarmiento, Orange City Councilmember Ana Gutierrez, former Orange Mayor Tita Smith, and Orange Unified School District Trustees Kris Erikson, Andrea Yamasaki, and Sara Pelly.

About the 2026 Orange Mayoral Election
The City of Orange mayoral election will be held November 3, 2026. The mayor is elected citywide for a two-year term.
The filing period for qualified write-in candidates continues through October 20, 2026, so the candidate field could change if a qualified write-in candidate files.
Dan Slater is the current Mayor of Orange. Arianna Barrios currently represents District 1 on the Orange City Council.
