The City of Orange’s 3rd of July Celebration has traditionally brought the community together for an early Independence Day celebration at Grijalva Park. The longtime Orange tradition dates to 1996 and has featured patriotic music, family activities and a fireworks show.
2026 Update: The City of Orange did not hold its traditional 3rd of July Celebration at Grijalva Park in 2026. Due to the City’s current financial situation, events traditionally sponsored by the City remain on hold until further notice. The City has not announced a return date for the 3rd of July Celebration.

Orange 3rd of July Celebration Status
The traditional celebration is currently on hold rather than permanently cancelled. The City of Orange says events it traditionally sponsored have been paused because of the City’s financial situation. Several other Orange community events have returned with support from local nonprofit organizations, but the City currently does not list the 3rd of July Celebration among those returning events.
Traditional location: Grijalva Park
Address: 368 N. Prospect St., Orange, CA 92869
Current status: On hold until further notice
What the Celebration Traditionally Included
When held, Orange’s 3rd of July Celebration has traditionally included children’s activities, food and beverages for purchase, a patriotic musical program and an evening fireworks spectacular. Past celebrations have also featured performances by the Orange Community Master Chorale.
Past events used lawn seating at Grijalva Park and included event-specific rules, parking plans and nearby street closures. Because those details can change from year to year, attendees should rely on the City of Orange’s official event information if the celebration returns.
Will the Orange 3rd of July Celebration Return?
The City has not announced when the 3rd of July Celebration will return. Its current Special Events page says traditionally City-sponsored events are on hold until further notice because of the City’s financial situation. Check the City of Orange Special Events page for future announcements.
