The Villa Park Women’s League (VPWL) is a long-standing community organization that brings Villa Park women together through friendship, shared interests, community service and social activities. Founded in 1969, VPWL describes itself as a “Circle of Friendship” for women who live in Villa Park.

VPWL supports community involvement, education, beautification and cultural enrichment while offering members opportunities to connect through clubs, interest groups, gatherings and local events.
About the Villa Park Women’s League
The Villa Park Women’s League was established on September 30, 1969. Contemporary newspaper coverage from the following decades shows that the League became deeply involved in Villa Park’s social and civic life, not simply as a membership club but as an organizer and supporter of community traditions, charitable efforts and neighborhood activities.
By the late 1970s and early 1980s, League members were involved in activities ranging from the Miss Villa Park program to holiday and community events. A 1979 newspaper account of the Miss Villa Park program identifies Women’s League involvement, while early-1980s coverage connects the League with the developing Dry Land Boat Parade tradition. Later community profiles also remembered the League as an influential force in Villa Park civic life.

Community Service & Events
The Villa Park Women’s League participates in community service and supports local civic and charitable efforts. Historically, League members have been associated with community traditions including the Miss Villa Park program and the Dry Land Boat Parade, along with social gatherings, picnics and other neighborhood activities documented in period accounts. More recent community history also records VPWL support for local projects such as Villa Park Knowles.
The exact mix of programs changes over time, so these historical activities should not be read as a list of current annual events. VPWL’s official website is the best source for current volunteer opportunities and event information.
