Owners of land parcels in the Villa Park Towne Center have removed trees and the post office mail box in order to make way for more parking. Five trees were removed and the post office mail box. The mail box will be re-located next to the VP Library book drop in front of the Villa Park city maintenance yard (behind City Hall).
These changes were not initiated by the City of Villa Park as they do not own the portion of the Towne Center where the trees and mail box were removed nor where the mail box will be re-located. The Towne Center is split into parcels of land and has eleven different owners. The owners that removed the trees and mail box simply desired more parking for their businesses in what has become an increasingly crowded center.
Three of the five trees that were removed to make way for more parking.
Five trees and a post office mailbox were removed in this area.
The mail box is being relocated next to the book drop box alongside the City maintenance yard fence.
No word yet on whether the blue and white Suburban that appears to be permanently parked in the Towne Center will be removed.
