Villa Park City Councilmember and business owner Crystal Miles has announced her bid to represent the 37th Senate District in the California Senate. Miles was elected to the City Council in 2018 and reelected in 2022. Miles and her husband own and operate an Orange County-based wholesale distributing business.

Miles is running for office due to her belief that policy decisions made in the statehouse have had detrimental effects on local communities, particularly regarding housing in California. Despite the state’s substantial investment of billions of dollars to tackle homelessness, Miles points out that the number of unhoused individuals continues to increase.
“The onslaught against parents, taxpayers, law-abiding citizens and small businesses by Sacramento politicians continues and it’s worse than ever before. We have to take the fight to them and that’s exactly what I will do as your State Senator.” Crystal Miles
If elected, Miles also cites public safety as another significant priority in Sacramento. Recognizing the upward trend in crime rates, she believes that robust and effective measures are necessary to ensure the safety of communities.
Orange County Supervisor Don Wagner is serving as a Chairman of Crystal Miles’ campaign. “Crystal Miles is a community leader and woman of action who will shake up the status quo in Sacramento,” said Supervisor Wagner.
Senator Dave Min currently holds the 37th Senate District seat but the Irvine Democrat has launched a bid for the 47th congressional district seat to serve in the United States House of Representatives.
