Bosscat Kitchen + Libations is set to open up in the Orange circle by replacing the long standing community fixture, Rod’s Liquor. Rod’s made the difficult decision to close it’s doors and lease the Old Towne Orange building to Bosscat. This will be the second Bosscat location in Orange County and third overall. The other restaurants are located in Newport Beach (next to JWA) and Houston, Texas.
Family owned Rod’s Liquor opened in 1949 and has been offering beer, wine and a variety of other selections ever since. In a sign of the times, it was more profitable to lease the building versus running a liquor store. For many shoppers a convenience store is no longer the most convenient place to buy liquor.
The family also made the difficult decision to close Rod’s before the Orange International Street Fair to the dismay of many in the community.
About Bosscat Kitchen + Libations
Co-owner John Reed opened the first Bosscat in 2014 with his partners Leslie Nguyen (the restaurant gets its title from her nickname) and Vinnie Capizzi. The executive chef is Peter Petro who originally hails from a blue-collar city just north of Boston.
The menu features Southern comfort cooking that is both familiar while also incorporating new flavors and cooking techniques. Bosscat offers mixologist-inspired cocktails while also housing one of the largest whiskey room collections in Orange County. Sunday brunch features even more unique culinary creations such as Fruity Pebbles French toast and of course bottomless Bloody Marys or Mimosas.
Bosscat Kitchen + Libations will be located at 118 W Chapman Ave, Orange, CA 92866.
