The Platinum Triangle is an approximately 828-acre district in Anaheim surrounding Angel Stadium, Honda Center and the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC). Since the 2000s, the area has been transforming from a largely industrial district into a mixed-use neighborhood centered on sports, entertainment, housing, businesses and transit. Nearly 10,000 Anaheim residents were already living in the Platinum Triangle by 2025, with additional housing and major projects continuing to reshape the area.
What Is the Platinum Triangle?
Anaheim’s Platinum Triangle generally surrounds and includes Angel Stadium, Honda Center and The Grove of Anaheim, with ARTIC serving as its major transit hub. The district sits near State College Boulevard and Katella Avenue and has convenient access to SR-57, I-5 and SR-22. The Santa Ana River and regional trail system also run along the eastern side of the area.
Development is guided by the City of Anaheim’s Platinum Triangle Master Land Use Plan, which has encouraged higher-density residential, office, restaurant, entertainment and other mixed-use development as older industrial properties are redeveloped. Because the plan continues to evolve, proposed projects and land-use designations can change over time.
Platinum Triangle Today
The Platinum Triangle is no longer simply a future development concept. It is an established Anaheim neighborhood with thousands of residents, apartment communities, offices, restaurants, major sports and entertainment venues and regional transportation. At the same time, substantial construction continues, most notably through OCVibe around Honda Center.
The result is a district in transition: longtime industrial and commercial uses remain in some areas while newer residential, entertainment and mixed-use projects continue to expand.
Major Platinum Triangle Destinations
Angel Stadium
Angel Stadium is home to Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Angels and is one of the defining landmarks of the Platinum Triangle. In addition to baseball, the stadium and surrounding property have hosted other large events over the years.
Honda Center
Honda Center is home to the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks and hosts concerts, family entertainment, sporting events and other large productions. The arena is also at the center of the OCVibe development now transforming the surrounding area.
ARTIC
The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center, better known as ARTIC, connects the Platinum Triangle with regional transportation including Metrolink, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner and bus services. Its location near Honda Center and Angel Stadium makes it an important transportation option for residents, commuters and event visitors.
OCVibe Development
OCVibe is the largest current development project in the Platinum Triangle. The roughly 92-acre, multibillion-dollar mixed-use development is taking shape around Honda Center with housing, restaurants, shopping, entertainment venues, offices, hotels, parks and other public spaces planned across multiple phases.
Major Anaheim approvals were granted in 2022, followed by amendments in 2024 and additional approvals as the master plan evolved. By 2026, Phase I was under construction with additional phases moving through development.
Anaheim’s 2026 development information describes the revised OCVibe project as allowing approximately 2,250 residential units, about 1.7 million square feet of commercial development and up to approximately 576,680 square feet of office space. Plans also include hotels, entertainment venues and significant park and open-space components.
In January 2026, Anaheim also approved changes providing for an additional 530 apartments, including 35 units designated for moderate-income residents, along with a new neighborhood park. Because OCVibe is being built in phases, individual buildings, opening dates and amenities should be confirmed through current City and OCVibe information.
Living in the Platinum Triangle
The Platinum Triangle has developed into one of Anaheim’s largest concentrations of newer multifamily housing. Apartment and residential communities are located throughout the district, particularly near State College Boulevard, Katella Avenue, Gene Autry Way and the stadium and arena areas.
Residents have relatively close access to major sports and entertainment venues, ARTIC and an expanding collection of restaurants and services. Ongoing construction is an important part of living in the area as OCVibe and other projects continue to build out.
Sports & Entertainment
Sports and entertainment are central to the Platinum Triangle. The Los Angeles Angels play at Angel Stadium, while the Anaheim Ducks play at Honda Center. Honda Center also hosts concerts and other touring events, and The Grove of Anaheim is another live entertainment venue within the district.
OCVibe is expanding the area’s entertainment focus with additional venues, dining and gathering spaces planned around Honda Center.
Parks & Open Space
As the Platinum Triangle becomes more residential, parks and public open space are becoming a larger part of the district’s planning. OCVibe includes neighborhood parks and other open-space components, while the nearby Santa Ana River Trail provides a regional recreation connection for walking and bicycling.
Some OCVibe park and open-space areas remain under construction or are part of future phases, so visitors should verify what is currently open before making plans around a specific proposed amenity.
Transportation & ARTIC
ARTIC is the Platinum Triangle’s primary regional transit center, with Metrolink and Amtrak Pacific Surfliner rail service plus bus and other transportation connections. The district also has direct access to major Southern California roadways, including SR-57 and nearby I-5 and SR-22.
The City’s long-term planning emphasizes pedestrian connections, bikeways and improved access among the stadium, arena, ARTIC, residential neighborhoods and new mixed-use development. Transportation patterns continue to change as OCVibe construction progresses and major events affect local streets.
Current & Future Development
The Platinum Triangle continues to evolve through a combination of completed development, active construction and approved future projects. OCVibe is the most visible current project, but Anaheim’s Master Land Use Plan continues to guide development throughout the larger district.
Anaheim Fire Station 12
Anaheim Fire Station 12 is under construction at 1822 S. State College Boulevard near Angel Stadium. The new station is designed specifically to serve the growing Platinum Triangle and surrounding areas. Anaheim’s current FY 2026–27 budget documents list construction as underway with anticipated completion in December 2026.
The project includes a main fire station building plus a separate structure for ambulances and other equipment. Once operational, it is intended to improve emergency response times as residential, business and entertainment activity grows in the district.
Platinum Triangle Planning Districts
The Platinum Triangle has historically been divided into several planning districts, including areas around the arena, stadium, ARTIC/transit hub, Katella Avenue, Gene Autry Way, Orangewood Avenue and other mixed-use areas. Those boundaries and land-use designations have been amended as major projects such as OCVibe have moved forward.
For zoning, development or property-specific research, use the City of Anaheim’s current Platinum Triangle Master Land Use Plan rather than relying on older district descriptions.
Nearby Anaheim Attractions
The Platinum Triangle is close to many of Anaheim’s best-known destinations, but they are not all part of the district itself. Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney, the Anaheim Convention Center and Anaheim GardenWalk are in or near the Anaheim Resort area west of the Platinum Triangle. The Anaheim Packing District and downtown Anaheim are to the north, while The Outlets at Orange is south of the district.
