Villa Park has a small commercial center of its own, but most of the area’s new restaurants and shops are a few minutes away in Orange. This page tracks what has opened, what is on the way and what has closed in Old Towne, along Chapman Avenue and at The Village at Orange.

Coming Soon
Reminisce
Status: Coming soon, early 2027 target
Reminisce is a planned restaurant, bakery and coffee roastery from owners Art and Olea Zelaya, with Noma co-founder Mads Refslund as culinary director. Plans call for a wood-fire kitchen and about 200 seats, with dinner first and breakfast and lunch later. The owners have not announced the address; planning records point to Almond Avenue near the Plaza. Source: Orange County Register, Oct. 6, 2026.
The Win~Dow
Status: Coming soon, no opening date
The Venice-born burger window plans its first Orange County location in the vacant former radiator shop at 237 W. Chapman Ave., near Lemon Street. The plan includes walk-up service, a bar and outdoor seating. The city’s Design Review Committee approved the reuse of the two historic buildings in June 2026 and the Planning Commission approved the alcohol permit on July 6, 2026. Sabor a Cuba
Status: Coming soon, no opening date
Felix Continental Cafe has closed, and Sabor a Cuba, a Cuban restaurant, has signed for the corner space on the Plaza. Renovation and disputes with a neighboring property owner have slowed the work, and the opening has been pushed to late 2026. Friends of Orange
7 Leaves Cafe
Status: Coming soon, no opening date
The Westminster-founded coffee, tea and matcha chain is building a 1,976-square-foot cafe in the former Walgreens at 3237 E. Chapman Ave., at Prospect Street, just west of Villa Park. It received a tenant improvement permit this summer. Orange County Register, What Now OC
Tifa Chocolate & Gelato
Status: Coming soon, no opening date
Tifa, which started in Agoura Hills, lists Orange among its upcoming locations, and The Village at Orange names it as a coming tenant. The center’s earlier summer 2026 target has passed. Tifa locations
Sourdough & Co.

The sandwich shop, which builds its menu around sourdough bread along with soups and salads, is listed by The Village at Orange as opening soon. The Village at Orange

Centro & Storico Cafe
Status: Open since January 2026
The Pozzuoli family, who run Pozzuoli Family Winery and the original Centro in Tustin, opened their second restaurant at 208 E. Chapman Ave. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the building has a lower-level dining room and wine bar. Orange Plaza Review
Oak & Poppy
Status: Open since February 2026
This piercing and fine jewelry studio soft-opened at 117 N. Olive St. in February and held its grand opening May 9. It is the studio’s third location after Woodland Hills and Beverly Grove. Orange Plaza Review
The Duchess
Status: Reopened March 2026
The home décor and design shop held its grand reopening at 910 E. Chapman Ave. on March 7. It sells furniture, décor and gifts and offers design services and workshops. The Duchess
Garrahan Hat Co.
Status: Open since March 2026
Garrahan moved out of Joyride Vintage into its own storefront at 111 N. Olive St., where it makes, sells and restores hats. In 2025 it bought D Bar J Hat Company of Las Vegas, which now continues as Garrahan’s western line. The shop lists Friday through Sunday hours. Garrahan Hat Co.
Kura Revolving Sushi Bar
Status: Open since March 2026
Kura opened March 20 at The Village at Orange, 1500 E. Village Way. Plates come around on a conveyor belt, and diners order other dishes from a touch screen at the table. Kura Sushi
Paradis Ice Cream
Status: Open since April 2026
The Danish ice cream shop opened at 30 Plaza Square, in the former Plaza Barbershop space. Ice cream is made on site, with regular and rotating flavors. Paradis Ice Cream
Jim’s Original
Status: Open since June 2026
The Chicago hot dog stand, open since 1939 and known for its Maxwell Street Polish, opened its first location outside Chicago at 214 N. Tustin St. It soft-opened June 11 and held its grand opening June 13. New Santa Ana
CAVA
Status: Open
CAVA’s Mediterranean bowls and pitas are now served at 2318 N. Tustin St. in The Village at Orange. The opening date was not published. The Village at Orange

Culinary Dropout
Status: Open since October 2025
Culinary Dropout opened Oct. 29, 2025 at 191 N. Orange St., just north of the Plaza, as its first Orange County location. It serves lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and cocktails. Culinary Dropout
Mr. Moto Pizza
Status: Open since December 2025
The San Diego pizza chain opened at The Village at Orange in December 2025. It serves New York-style pies and sells pizza by the slice.
Bluestone Lane
Status: Open since July 2022
Bluestone Lane, an Australian-style cafe, has been at 114 N. Olive St. since July 2022. It was the chain’s first Orange County location and serves coffee and all-day breakfast and lunch.

Baked Banhs
Status: Closed June 27, 2026
The bakery known for Vietnamese-inspired baked goods closed permanently on June 27, 2026. Friends of Orange
Starbucks on the Orange Plaza
Status: Closed September 2025

The Village at Orange
New tenants such as Kura, CAVA and Mr. Moto are filling single storefronts while the City of Orange works on a larger plan for the 60-acre mall site at Tustin Street and Meats Avenue.
Orange’s draft plan allows up to 834 homes on the site. It has no Costco option, and public comments are due Nov. 13, 2026, with review expected in summer or fall 2027. Our Village at Orange page covers the plan in more detail.
